Withered Wastelands — Environment Level, comfort, and early materials

Withered Wastelands (パサパサこうや) is the opening region and one of four areas that must reach Environment Level 5 for endgame story credit. Town Environment Level tracks total Pokémon comfort in that area—befriend residents, furnish habitats, and complete daily requests rather than only grinding materials.

Environment Level in this town

Each town has its own Environment Level (1–10) based on combined comfort of all Pokémon friends there. Check the PC outside the Pokémon Center or “Detailed Environment Level Info” inside.

To finish the main story credits you need Environment Level 5 in four areas: Withered Wastelands, Bleak Beach, Rocky Ridges, and Sparkling Skylands.

Notable unlocks

Level 2 opens more shop and communication features. Level 3 makes the Pokémon Center Rebuild Kit available—also when Mystery Goggles appear for Cloud Island visits. Level 5 in Withered Wastelands grants Cracker ×2 (Union Challenge EX). Level 10 unlocks remaining shop stock and design kits.

Early material routes

This region is where you learn Cut, gather Small Logs, and set up Chop partners—see the lumber guide for ground fragments and cave piles. Mysterious Slates for Mew drop in the wasteland; sweet-flavor Mosslax offerings can boost slate finds when you are hunting them.

What lowers comfort

Moving high-comfort Pokémon away drops town level. Broken furniture, rain extinguishing unprotected campfires, and removing residents can lock content you previously unlocked—repair paths and shelter fire objects.
